How does the Shuttle Bus work?
There are two types of shuttle bus routes operating in the area: “feeder buses” and “winery loops”.
Feeder buses take you out to the various regions at the beginning and end of the day, and winery loop shuttle buses circulate amongst wineries within each region. Each of them will operate on a set timetable that will be published in the Event Program.
You will be asked to book in your departure time on the Feeder Bus when you purchase your shuttle bus tickets – this is to help us book the right amount of buses. You may arrive earlier or later that initially selected, however please keep in mind that there may not be any available seats on the buses at that time, and you may have to wait a little longer to get a seat.
You must show your bus wristband whenever you board the bus.
There is no drinking of alcohol allowed on the buses.
Do Shuttle Buses connect different regions?
If you would like to attend multiple regions, you do have the option of catching the first bus out to one region and then catching a returning Feeder bus back to Geelong Station to transfer over to a Feeder bus to another region. Please consult the bus timetable in the Event Program for times.
Feeder buses are scheduled for transfers to the regions at the beginning of the day (approx. 9:30am-1:30pm) and end of the day (approx. 4:00pm-5:30pm).
How do I purchase a Shuttle Bus ticket?
Tickets for the Shuttle Bus are purchased as a package with the Entry ticket. Tickets must be pre-purchased online – please select Entry + Shuttle Bus. Tickets will be available until sold out.
As with the Entry ticket, you will be asked to exchange your ticket for a wristband at a nominated collection venue. You must wear both your entry wristband and shuttle bus wristband during the event for access to the shuttle buses.

How do I organise a Private Charter Bus?
Private charter buses are booked directly by you. There are loads of awesome charter companies working around the region. Here is a selection of them to help get you started:
Once you have booked your private minibus or coach, you must then notify us by registering your bus and booking in your itinerary.
It is now event policy that all private buses be registered and booked in for a specific time to visit each winery. This includes all private charter buses/minibuses (e.g. with a professional bus driver, self-drive, or with a tour operator).
- Purchase General Entry Tickets
- Register your private bus via our online form (organisers contact details, bus company details, copy of your licence is required). You will then be emailed a unique bus registration number (to display in your bus) and a bus booking phone number (to call to schedule in your group’s detailed itinerary of winery visits for event day).
- Please review the event program and map of wineries to plan a detailed itinerary of winery visits (e.g. plan your preferred route and arrival times to each winery) BEFORE calling to book in your itinerary. Note: wineries will have limited space in each arrival time-slot so ensure you have a few alternatives routes worked out.
Registration and scheduled itinerary bookings must be made before the event. Wineries will not accept buses without a booking.

Can we drink alcohol on our private charter buses or shuttle bus?
No. Drinking, and carrying of opened, alcohol on all buses is prohibited. Patrons must not consume alcohol in any vehicle; this includes all cars and private charter buses/minibuses (e.g. with a professional bus driver, self-drive, or with a tour operator).
Toast to the Coast is committed to the responsible serving of alcohol and we aim to provide a safe and friendly environment for our guests and staff and want to abide by our legal obligations under the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998. It is understood that you agree to abide by the code of conduct when you participate in event.
Can my non-drinking friend buy just the shuttle bus ticket, if the event is free for them to attend?
Seats are extremely limited for shuttle buses and so priority is given to ticket holders only.
Non ticket holders therefore can’t buy a shuttle bus ticket.
We understand that a non drinking friend may want to attend with their friends – in which case we’d recommend they become a designated driver for friends who are ticket holders.
Can I bring my own car?
Geelong is a 45 minute car trip along the Princes Freeway from Melbourne. The three sub regions where Toast to the Coast winery venues are situated are all a short drive from Geelong – heading out towards the Moorabool Valley, Surf Coast and The Bellarine.
If you are traveling to and around Toast to the Coast by car please plan ahead, nominate a designated driver and follow our tips on how to enjoy the Festival.
All of our Toast wineries have a special offer for Designated Non Drinkers and entry to all participating venues is free (without wine tastings).
