MASTERCLASS

Presented by

These series of masterclasses are aimed at being a fun, informal yet seriously informative educational experience for those who love and appreciate good wine and want to learn more about it. Whether you’re just starting out on your wine journey, work in the trade/industry, or are a serious wine aficionado, you’re sure to learn more and enhance your knowledge and passion for all things vinous.

Chardonnay: “Texture and Finesse”

A deeper look at just how beautiful Chardonnay can really be.

There’s so much more to Chardonnay than that which is generally perceived. Come immerse your senses and discover the supreme richness and flavour profiles that this wonderful variety can offer, and appreciate more just why this grape is the greatest white variety in the world.

With winemaker Matt Holmes – Bannockburn Vineyards

Pinot Noir: “A Weapon of Mass Seduction”

What is it that makes Pinot Noir so damned complex, seductive, and well, so yummy?!

Often described as the ‘Holy Grail’ of winemaking, Pinot Noir production is a fickle business at the best of times, yet when it all comes together the results can be truly stunning. Let’s delve into some premium examples that show off all those amazing qualities that define great Pinot Noir – the perfumed fragrance, the array of fruits on display, and the layers of undergrowth/forest floor complexities that keep it all so alluring and sexy.

With winemaker James Thomas – Heroes Vineyard

Shiraz: “Que Syrah, Syrah”

Shiraz holds a special place in our Australian hearts, let’s be guided by its possibilities.

Is there a difference between Shiraz and Syrah? What about the power of the South Australians vs. Cool Climate elegance? Let’s discuss in finer detail, and find out more about all those rich, enticing aromas and flavours that characterise this fabulous variety: the black fruits, the deep dark savoury spice, and the underlying earthy complexities that define great Shiraz.

With winemaker Sam Vogel – Provenance Wines

EXPRESS WINE GLASS EXPERIENCE

Presented by

We are thrilled to have Plumm attend Toast to the Coast at the Pier.  The Plumm Express Wine Glass Experience is free, so make sure you drop over the Plumm stand on the day to try this for yourself.

The Plumm story is one of simplicity, balance, elegance and ultimately of pleasure.

Born of the wine industry and developed with wine styles rather than specific wine varieties in mind, at Plumm we believe the right glassware can mean the difference between a good glass of wine and a great one. Our simple philosophy is you don’t need a cupboard full of glasses, nor do you need a different glass for every grape variety.

Wine Geelong – A Plumm Express Wine Glass Experience

Throughout the day, people will be experiencing wine in Plumm’s Multi Red glass, its shape allows all red styles to perform well.

At the Plumm stand, people will be able to discover how our style-specific glassware assist in amplifying the wine the way the winemaker intended.

Plumm will let you experience wine in your Multi Red glass, and then pour it into the style specific glass from our Plumm Vintage collection.

Local Cheeses & Olives

Presented by

Archive Wine Bar, Deli and Bottleshop in High St Belmont will be offering a taste of some of their delicious local cheeses and olives to match with your favourite drops. You can even purchase one of their signature “Archive Grazing Platters” to enjoy on the day.
